AT&T Maintenance Cancelled

The routing maintenance scheduled by AT&T for February 20th has been cancelled.

AT&T Maintenance to Affect Internet Services

AT&T is planning router maintenance on February 20th, during the hours of 12:00AM - 6:00AM.

This will affect internet access for all of our DSL customers.  We apologize for the inconvenience but unfortunately this is out of our control.

Phone Scam Report

One of our customers reported a phone call in which the caller identified himself as a grandson who was in trouble out of state (possibly out of country) and requested a large sum of money so he could return home safely.  This individual related accurate family information and appeared credible.

The call was determined to be a scam in which individuals prey upon the elderly and their willingness to help a grandchild or other family member.

Please make sure the person on the call is who they claim to be before agreeing to any financial support.

Bandwidth Upgrade

We've completed the bandwidth upgrade and subsequent performance tweaking.  Hopefully our DSL customers have noticed an improvement.

If you have any questions or issues, please let us know @ 422-3535 and, as always, thank you for your patience!

Long Distance Issues

There have been ongoing issues with long distance, reported by approximately 180 telephone companies across 35 states.  Unfortunately, Chugwater Telephone is also affected.

After several escalations to the Public Service Commission, the FCC is looking at the problem to determine the cause of the failures.

In some cases, the inbound long distance connects but there's dead air on the receiving end.  In other cases, the phone won't ring or the call completes but then disconnects after a few minutes.

Bandwidth Performance Tweaking

Just an update on our new bandwidth.  We're still in the process of tweaking performance to get the most from the new lines.  There may be occasional short outages as new configs are tested but your service should be mostly unaffected.

In the event your service does not come back online, rebooting your DSL modem will, in most cases, restore service.  If your service does not come back, give us a call @ 422-3533 and we will send a tech out to assist.

As always, we appreciate your understanding while we work to improve our lines.

CTC Internet Upgrades During the Month of February, 2011

We're currently experiencing very high usage of our internet bandwidth which is causing slow access to all subscribers.

To compensate for this higher usage, we've renegotiated our contracts to double the available bandwidth, starting February 4th. During this time, we anticipate several short outages as equipment is upgraded, moved into place and the new configurations are tested.

We appreciate your patience as we take the necessary steps to ensure you receive a speedy online experience.
